Run Hackney 2015

It is official.

I now have my first big race in the diary for 2015 and I am incredibly excited about it, in fact I am incredibly excited just generally by having a whole new year to fill with running events…who knows which ones I will run.

Looking back at my calendar for this year its hard to believe that I did such a wide range of events, a 10 mile race around a test track, The Brighton Marathon, a 10K run around London dressed as a Tiger, Southend and Roding Valley Halfs, another quick whizz around the Olympic Park…and of course Tough Mudder…yes its been a busy ole year.

But one race really did stand out for me. It was a toughie in part because of the heat…but if I look back at all of this years races, the Run Hackney was the one that I said I seriously want to do that again next year. So I was delighted when the organisers got in touch and asked if I would like to.

So on the 10th May I will be lining up with thousands of others to conquer the streets of Hackney,

Last year the race was the new kid on the block in terms of London half marathons, but even still the buzz around Hackney was immense. This year there are a whole heap of exciting developments to make the Vitality Run Hackney even bigger and better than ever, including

  • A FREE technical t-shirt (men/women’s fit)
  • Incredible Hackney supporters
  • More fabulous live entertainment
  • Same fab course but with an improved route through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
  • 5 water stations & 4 mist showers
  • And don’t forget the bling… a sparkly new medal for 2015!

You can get £5 off the entry price at the moment so why not book your first big event for 2015 now?

One of the things I loved about the race was the route, a mix of the different neighbourhoods in Hackney and of course a section through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park all lined with cheering spectators, the route is a little different this time…but you can get an idea from this short video I made of last years event.
