Today I came across a great post outlining the many reasons why we run…and I thought ok how many of these apply and actually there wasn’t a single reason that didn’t apply to me…however there was a pretty big one that was missing for me, which was
I run to prove to others that I can
But anyway, it got me thinking…if I love running sooooo much, and have all these glorious reasons for lacing up my trainers and hitting the streets/trails/parks etc…then why the hell have I not been for a run since Saturday? Well, its easy…cos for every reason there is for going for a run, there is at least one reason not to run…so here they are

- I don’t run because I can’t be bothered to get changed
- I don’t run because I might bump into someone I know
Do you know what, this list is endless…this is not even an attempt to collate my top 50 reasons, it’s literally just the ramblings of my mind when thinking about the excuses I’ve used in the past. I am sure I could come up with a few hundred more.
So whats my point?
I need to quit with the excuses and just get my arse out the door and start clocking up the miles.
For those of you who don’t already know, I have committed to something called Juneathon, whereby I am going to run every day throughout June. How many excuses will I have to fight against, how many will I hear from other participants of the challenge…how long will I last before I give up completely??
Only time will tell…my next run will be on Saturday, why Saturday? Well because it’s the 1st June, and I simply can’t be bothered to run before then. Is that OK??
