Apologies in advance, I have consumed a can of red stripe and 3 brandy and diet cokes, so can not vouch for the quality or cohesion of this post.

So my last post was about that stupid doctor who told me I was too fat to run a marathon. Granted I had gone to see him in excruciating pain with some kind of lower back problem, but he was still out of order!!

I managed to get an appointment a few days later at the British School of Osteopathy…osteopathy I tell ya, who would have thought it, me actually going to see a specialist rather than sticking my head in the sand and hoping for the best.

I braced myself for the bad news

But after a comprehensive interview, undressing to my bra and knickers to perform a range of exercises and then having a weird mini massage on my spine…like actually the different sections of my spine…it was agreed by no less than 3 students and the course tutor that I was ok to run my marathon.

They couldn’t find much wrong with my back aside from a slight imbalance of muscle tone which is apparently quite common for mothers who hold their kids on one side.

The tutor spotted a slight imbalance in my hip alignment and the positioning of my left big toe, which may be connected to a ten year old knee injury, but that can be addressed at a later date. I have booked another appointment for next week in preparation for my marathon…yes I am still running a marathon.

Although you would never know it the way I have been carrying on. I haven’t run for a week. I have been eating crap, and tonight I decided I fancied a drink.

Tomorrow I need to pull myself together, go out for a run, get back to sensible eating…oh and raise £400 for my chosen charity.

Can you spare some pocket change to my campaign, seriously £1 or $1 or €1 it all helps. Donate now and help me get back into the mindset of someone about to run a marathon.

Donate now…please????

Glad to hear the good back news. When I told Commando about your doctor he was horrified. As he is over fifty and only began running a couple of years ago he gets a fair bit of the same thing, just age related. Ignore it and carry on as you are 🙂

I recently shared your blog amongst some of my friends, and they were shocked at the attitude of the doctor, hopefully they will start following your blog and following your progress to marathon victory
